Lesson 4: WE ARE PRIESTS AND KINGS

BIBLE TEXT: Ecclesiastes 10:1–7
MEMORY VERSE: Revelation 5:10
LESSON AIM: To understand the authority and identity of believers as kings and priests.

INTRODUCTION

You are not ordinary but a royal priesthood and a holy nation (1 Peter 2:9). It takes divine effort to draw and save you (John 6:44). Therefore, you have heaven backing you in all you do because God will never leave nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

LESSON OUTLINE

  1. The Kingly Throne of Believers
  2. The Back-up Anointing to Kingly Authority

LESSON CONTENT

  1. THE KINGLY THRONE OF BELIEVERS
Believers, through the finished work of Christ, are made kings and priests to reign on earth (Revelation 1:5–6; 5:10). Ignorance of this truth leads to spiritual imbalance (Ecclesiastes 10:5–7).
As kings, believers are positioned as the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13). This is a position of honor made possible by God. Therefore, believers must be faithful, endure trials, and remain victorious through Christ (2 Timothy 2:12).
  2. THE BACK-UP ANOINTING TO KINGLY AUTHORITY
The anointing distinguishes and empowers the believer (1 Samuel 16:13). Authority is not by human strength but by the Spirit of God (Zechariah 4:6).

    The anointing:
    – Produces wisdom (Proverbs 8:15)
    – Brings peace and confidence (Psalm 23:5–6)
    – Grants authority over the enemy (Luke 10:19)
    – Enables dominion and integrity (Daniel 1:8–20)
Believers have divine backing and are empowered to rule effectively.

CONCLUSION

The Holy Spirit empowers believers to live in dominion, holiness, and authority. As you yield to the anointing, you will begin to function in your kingly authority.
