Lesson 141: SORROW OF A BACKSLIDER – PART 1

INTRODUCTION: The African has a proverb: until a woman has tried two husbands, she would not know that one is preferable to the other. Until man has tried two lives: one without Christ and the other in Christ, he would not know the difference. But what a sorrow it would be to have lived in the glorious liberty that is Christ’s and then go back into the world. May it never happen to you in Jesus Name. Amen. This series of studies is to know the sorrow’-s of such a backslider.

1. THE LIFE OF SINNER IS A WRETCHED ONE: DON’T GO BACK TO IT
The life of a sinner is ci wretched and terrible one. The Bible gives
a graphic description of the life of a sinner and it is quite unenviable.
It is a life (i) without peace, (ii) without rest (iii) full of pains (iv)
full of afflictions (v) full of hardship (vi) full of tribulation (vii) full
of anguish (viii) full of misery (ix) full of destructions (x) full of sorrows, etc. Besides, there is the constant dread that he will end up in hell where he will be tormented forever. If you are still a sinner, you must get out of such a life immediately. If a saved soul, do not go back to such a wretched life.
