Lesson 144: TAKE YOUR STAND – PART 1

INTRODUCTION: Consider the traffic policeman. His most strenuous personal effort cannot stop a fast moving car. Yet, he stands firmly in the middle of the road, raises his hand and the traffic stops. In a similar manner, a Christian who takes firm stand for his Lord has authority to stop all the satanic traffic in his life, Luke 10:19. May the Lord grant us all the grace to take our stand firmly for Him as we study this series in Jesus Name. Amen.

1. THE POWER BEHIND US IS GREATER THAN THAT OF THE ENEMY, AND HE KNOWS IT TOO.
All powers belong to Jesus Christ and He has delegated these powers to us. The devil knows this and he trembles each time he thinks about it. If you are truly joined to Christ, then whatever power Christ has belongs to you too. Wherever the Head is must be where the body is also and Christ is seated at the right hand of
the throne of God. And that is the center of power of the whole universe. The reasons why some Christians still alive a defeated lie therefore are mainly (i) lack of comprehension of this truth and (ii) a shaky stand for God.

2. THE DEVIL CAN CONTROL ONLY THOSE WHO ARE NOT STANDING FIRMLY FOR CHRIST.
Some people think the devil is in control of everything in this world, but they are wrong. He cannot control you if you are not of this world because he is the prince of this world and those in love with it. God has already destroyed the works of the devil in the lives of those who truly belong to Him. All we are required to do is stand firm in Christ and continue to reign in life with Christ. As for the devil, he is surely under our feet if we are truly for Christ.
