Lesson 415: THE WORD OF GOD (JAMES 1:23-25) Part 1

INTRODUCTION:
The Word of God is likened to many things in the Bible. One of these things is the Mirror or looking glass. As we examine the Word as a mirror today, we pray that permanent changes for the better will come into our lives in Jesus Name. Amen.

1. THE MIRROR CANNOT CHANGE, YOU CAN
The Word of God is like a mirror. If the mirror is to benefit you, you have to look into it. When you do, the mirror will show you your exact image, whether you like it or not. If you do not like what you see, since the mirror cannot change, then you must change.

2. THE BLOOD, YOURSELF AND THE FIRE
We are to cleanse ourselves if (i) God’s promises are to be fulfilled in our lives (ii) we are to be vessels unto honour (iii) we want fellowship with God (iv) we hope to see Jesus and (v) we hope to be like Him one day. God does cleanse us initially with His blood but if we then refuse to adjust as we should, the only option left is the fire.
