Lesson 320: STUDIES IN ACTS – PART TWO ACTS 1:8-11

INTRODUCTION:
In the 1st part of this series, we saw how the Gospel reached the then world in 6 stages and that there is a power superior to political power. In this 2nd part we wish to examine that power more closely and take a look at another important promise of the Bible. May the Lord bless us as we study in Jesus Name. Amen.

1. MIRACLES ARE ESSENTIAL TO EFFECTIVE EVANGELISM.

The reason why we need power from on high to witness effectively is that unbelievers must see signs and wonders to convince them of the reality of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For example, each time a miracle occurred in the early Church a lot of conversion followed.

2. THE KING IS COMING AGAIN.

The ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ was a crucial necessity for us Christians. He had to go far several reasons Acts. 1:9-11; John 16:7; John 16:12-14; John 14:15-18; Heb. 7:22-27; I John 2:1; I Tim. 2:5; John 14:1-2. However, far more important still is the fact and certainty that He will surely come again Rev. 19:5-9; John 14:3; Acts 1:11. May we be ready when He shall come. Amen. Eph. 5:25-27; Matt. 24:40-41; Heb. 10:38-39.
