Lesson 113: God The Holy Spirit – Part 17

INTRODUCTION: We have studied about God the Holy Spirit as Teacher, Comforter, Guardian, the Revealer of the future, the Glorifier of Jesus Christ, etc. John 14:26; 16:13-14. We have also studied the gifts of the Holy Spirit in detail in I Cor. 12:4-11. Now we want to begin a study of the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. May the Holy Spirit manifest Himself mightily in our midst from now on and forever in Jesus Name. Amen.

1. THE KINGDOM OF GOD HAS ALREADY STARTED
Daniel prophesied of a time when God will set up a kingdom that will be everlasting we believed that as Christians, we are already in that Kingdom. Our Lord Jesus Christ said that some of His hearers would witness the coming of the kingdom before they died. That kingdom started at Pentecost. You can become a part of that kingdom the moment you are baptized in the Holy Spirit because it is a kingdom for only those endowed with the power of the Holy Spirit.

Dan. 2:44; Isa. 9:7; Mark 9:1; Acts 1:8; 2:2-4; I Cor. 4:20; Zcch. 4:6.

2. MEMBERS OF GOD’S KINGDOM ARE THE TRUE RULERS OF THIS WORLD
Since Christ is the power of God to all believers any one who is in Christ has no excuse for being powerless. Like Paul, every Christian must be able to demonstrate the power of God. Surely, there is power in the Gospel of Jesus Christ not only to save from sin but also to heal, deliver and meet every need. Therefore in order to make sinners submissive to His Children, God usually wrought wonders by the power of the Holy Spirit even as Christ is preached.

I Cor. 1:24; 2:4; Rom. 1:16-17; 14:17; Rom. 15:18-19; II Cor. 10:3-6; I Thes. 1:5.

3. OUR GOD IS A GOD OF SIGNS AND WONDERS
Since God’s Kingdom is one of power, that is why every member of the Kingdom is a soldier. They have a Commander-m-Chief whose orders are (i) preach the Gospel (ii) heal the sick (iii) cleanse the lepers (iv) raise the dead and (v) cast out demons. In short, His orders are, perform signs and wonders. And since He is a God of signs and wonders Himself, he assured all of us that He would supply all the resources we need to perform these signs and wonders. And you can claim that promise tonight.

Acts 4:29-30; 5:12-16; Mark 16:15-18; Acts 2:17-18; Joel 2:28-29; Isa. 44:3; Matt. 5:6; John 7:37-39; Isa. 7:14.
