Lesson 202: POWER TO THE PEOPLE

INTRODUCTION:

Power is the ability to do work either physical or spiritual. For example, in the spiritual realm, power is the ability to heal the sick, make the lame to walk, raise the dead, etc. there are two kinds of power. (1) Constructive and (11) Destructive God has both Deut. 32:39. In fact power belongs to God and to him only. Ps. 62: 11; Matt. 28:18.; but He can give it to whosoever He pleases, Rom. 13:1, May you receive from Him today in Jesus Name. Amen.

1. WHY DO WE NEED THE POWER OF GOD?

We need to have the power of God so that many people might believe and be converted when they see us demonstrating the power of God. Because it is only in the demonstration of God’s power that the word of God is confirmed and the faith of people will have proper foundation. It is also in the demonstration of the power of God that the Gentiles are subdued and the works of Satan destroyed.

2. THE POWER OF GOD IS FOR HIS PEOPLE

God’s intention is that His children would share in everything He is and Has. That is why He promised that miracles will be wrought by all believers. From Old Testament times, anyone who surrendered to the Almighty had wielded the power of the Almighty. Examples include Elisha, Stephen, and Phillip to mention just a few.
