Lesson 206: MOUNT ZION – THE CITY OF GOD

INTRODUCTION:

There are many mountain in the Bible (a) Mount Moriah, (b) Mount Herob, (c) Mount Olivet, (f) Mount Hermon etc. But today we want to talk about Mount Zion which is the city of the living God. Heb. 12:22. May the Lord Himself teach us today in Jesus Name. Amen.

1. CONTRAST OF MOUNT SINAI AND MOUNT ZION:

These two mountains are revealing two dispensations, i.e Law and Grace. Mount Sinai is where people fear to come, because it is burning with fire. Even Moses the servant of God was afraid. Mount Zion is the City of the living God, where you can come by grace through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.

2. FACTS ABOUT MOUNT ZION

(i) It is the City of God, and the heavenly Jerusalem.
(ii) It is a place where we have the general assembly of the bride i.e. the church.
(iii) The name of each member of the church must be written in heaven.
(iv) No more temptation in this city.
(v) The condition to enter this city is by the covenant of the Blood of Jesus.
(vi) The only mediator between man and God is Jesus, who is also the only way to this city.
