Lesson 24: The Light – Part 1; John 1:4

INTRODUCTION: In the last study, we began our study of John 1:4 by considering Him, in who is life. We discovered that though every man has an appointment with death, the date of death is not fixed. In fact, you can lengthen or shorten your life at will. Today, we want to consider the Light. What is light? What does it do? Light is simply that which drives away darkness – Genesis 1:3-4, Luke 1:78-79. Light aids sight and growth of both plants and other living things,
Psalms 128:1-4. But there are other questions for us to answer. May the Lord quicken our understanding as we dig deep into His word. Amen.

1. What is the colour of the brightest light? What does this colour signify? How many colours combine of the rainbow: Red, Orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet 7 in the number for perfection – Matt. 5:48.

Red stands for danger John 3:17-21. It is also the colour of blood, I John 1:7 and fire, Matthew 3:11-12, Matthew 3:11. Orange and yellow can be taken together as the colour of the sun and gold, Jesus is the Sun of Righteousness Revelation 21:23, Revelation 22:5, with healing in His wings Malachi 4:2 giving grace glory and other things Psalms 84:11, and supplying life to those who behold Him, Eccl. 11:17, John 3:14-15. Gold of course stands for wealth so that to be truly rich you need Jesus. Ps 34:10, Deut. 8:18, I Chron.29:12.

Green is the colour of vegetable and stands for productivity or fruits bearing, John 15:1-6. Blue is for love, I John 4:7-22, John 3:16. Indigo for hope – I Tim.1:1. Violet is for glory.

CONCLUSION: By a close study of white, the perfect light, are you not amazed at what is available to you in accepting Christ? Think of it: His blood, Holy Spirit baptism, healing, wealth, productivity, hope and glory to mention a few, with these wonderful revelations, is backsliding worth considering? As for me, NO TURNING BACK in Jesus name.
