Lesson 241: THE BOOK OF REVELATION – PART 8

INTRODUCTION:
In the last part of this series, we saw how Christians could dwell in the very Headquarters of Satan and still be victorious. We also learnt more of the rewards awaiting the overcomers. Today, we wish to study the letter to the church at Thyatira, the compromising church. May the Lord bless us as we study in Jesus Name. Amen.

1. THE CLAIM OF CHRISTIANITY IS THAT JESUS IS THE ONLY SAVIOUR

Thyatira was a great commercial town famous for dying wool red and purple. It had a fortune-telling shrine and many trade guilds. Within the church there was a “Jezebel” adverting compromise with world standard in the interest of business and prosperity. But God forbids compromise. Jesus is not one of the saviours. He is the only one.

2. PUNISHMENTS FOR SINS ARE ALWAYS RELATED AND PROPORTIONAL TO THE SINS

The 3 weapons of “Jezebel” were food, sex and wealth. God has His warnings to us these things. Whenever God decides to punish, the punishment is always related and proportional to the sins. For the overcomers, the rewards get better and bigger.
