Lesson 280: SAMSON; A STUDY IN “THE ANOINTING” – PART 4
INTRODUCTION:
In the last part of this series, we learnt that anointing goes hand in hand with fire and you must be careful how you handle the anointed of God. We also learnt that everything prospers in the hands of the anointed. Today, we pray that the Almighty will bless us deeply as we continue our study in Jesus Name. Amen.
1. DIVINE PATIENCE IS NOT THE SAME AS DIVINE APPROVAL
Anointing is no excuse for a sinful life and anyone who goes to the enemy’s territory to play will surely be attacked by the enemy’s soldiers. Whenever God decides to be patient with the anointed, he should be careful to note that God never approved of sin, never.
Judge 16:1-3; Rom. 6:1-2; Matt. 4:5-7; Gen. 13:10-13; 14:1-2, 12; 19:1-9, 26; II Thess. 2:9; Ex. 7:11, 22; II Pet. 3:9-14; Rom. 9:22; Isa. 16:14.
2. THE ANOINTED MINUS GOD EQUAL DUST
Samson did not fall suddenly in one day. He took 7 gradual steps from the mountain top of power to the pit of powerlessness. He broke all the rules of a Nazarite only to discover that without God the anointed is nothing but dust.
