Lesson 29: The Witness; John 1:7
INTRODUCTION: In the previous study we studied about the Ambassador, the one who is sent. But this week, we want to consider the “witness” mentioned in John 1:7. The following questions will be assisting our digging deep into the Word of God.
1. When is a witness necessary?
2. Who can be a witness?
3. What does Jesus witness about God?
4. How beautiful are the mansions up there?
5. Why is it necessary for Jesus to come for us?
6. How can we be a true witness?
7. What is witnessing?
8. Can a true witness be intimidated?
9. Any reward for witnessing for Christ?
A witness becomes necessary when there is an accusation of judgment to be passed, Isaiah 53:7-8. To be a true witness one must know the facts or have seen certain thing happen – John 3:11, John 8:38. Jesus told us about beautiful mansions in His Father’s House John 14:1-3, Matt. 16:26. The glory of heaven is so great that Jesus himself has to need the help of the Holy Spirit Acts 1:8, John 16:13-14. Witnessing is telling what you know Acts 4:18-20, Matt. 11:2-5. If you are a true witness, you cannot be intimidated or frightened Acts 4:23-29, Matt.10:18-20. And there is abundant blessing for those who witness for Christ – Matt.10:32-33, John 3:26-31, Matt.11:11, John 12:26.
CONCLUSION: Are you a true witness of Christ? Will you like to be? Pray about it now.
