Lesson 322: ACTS OF THE APOSTLE PART 3

INTRODUCTION:
In the last part of this series, we learnt that one of the Reasons why we need the of the Holy Spirit is because miracle are essential to effective evangelism. Furthermore, we also learnt that probably the most important fact for all Christians is that Christ is coming again. Today, as we look at the rest of the 1st chapter of Acts, may the Lord quicken our understanding as we study in Jesus Name. Amen.

1. THERE ARE CONDITIONS TO BE SATISFIED IF YOU WANT DIVINE GUIDANCE
The Apostles wanted to fill the vacancy created by Judas Iscariot. But they sought guidance the wrong way and chose the wrong man. Amen Acts 1:12-26; Ps. 25:9; Isa. 30;21; Isa. 42:16; Mic. 7:8; Luke 1:78-79; Ps. 48:14; John 16:13. Anyone who wants Divine guidance must satisfy certain conditions according to the Scripture Job. 22:21-28; Prov. 4:18.

2. THERE ARE CRUCIAL LESSONS TO BE LEARNT FROM THE FALL OF JUDAS ISCARIOT.
There are some crucial lessons to be learnt from the fall of Judas Iscariot. Several things led to this fall, principal among which are avarice hypocrisy and treachery, every Christian must flee these things in order not to end up as Judas did Matt. 26:14-15; Amos. 2:6; John 12:4-6; Ecc. 12:14; Luke 22:47-48; Pro. 26:27; Ps. 50:17-22; Ps. 49:16-20.

THE HOLY SPIRIT HAD BEEN ACTIVE ON EARTH BEFORE THE DAY OF PENTECOST

The Holy Spirit is God and as such he is eternal, that is he has no beginning and not ending of days. On several occasions in the Old Testament, we can see the Holy Spirit in operation. However, something very special happened on the day of Pentecost; the dispensation of the Holy Spirit began. Gen. 1:1-2; Gen. 6:1-3; Judge 13:24-15; Acts 16; Acts 7:51; Acts 28:25; John 14:15-16; I Cor. 3:16.
