Lesson 327: THE DANGER AND CURE OF BACKSLIDING

INTRODUCTION:
There is always a danger when a believer is no more interested in his Lord, because God is not happy to those who left first love and zeal for him Rev. 2:4-5. May the Lord bless us richly as we study at His feet in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

1. DETERIORATION OF BACKSLIDING

It is possible for a saint to backslide if he is not watchful and prayerful, sinners are better than backslider, because a backslider is like an animal and a fool. II Pet. 2:20-22; Matt. 26:40-41; II Tim. 4:10; II Tim. 2:17-19; Heb. 10:37-39; Matt. 12:43-45; Luke 11:26; Luke 12:47; Matt. 26:23-24; John 17:12; John 6:70-71; John 13:27; Pro. 26:11; Exodus 8:15.

2. HOPE OF REAL RESTORATION

God promises to heal backsliders on condition that they repent and their heart are washed, you need a contrite and humble spirit before you can restored. Jere. 3:22; 4:14; Isaiah 57:12-21; Ezekiel 18:30-32; Isa. 66:2; Isa. 57:15; John 1:9; Luke 22:31-34; James 4:7-11.
