Lesson 44: The Blessings of Personal
INTRODUCTION: many Christians only pray when in the Church or in a group. They do not realize the importance of personal prayer. Just as it is important that we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour so must we maintain a personal contact with Him everyday, every moment of our life.
1. One of the secrets of the successful saints of old is a love personal prayers – Ps. 5:3, Ps. 119:147, Ps. 55:17, Daniel 6:10, Zechariah 8:21, Luke 2:37, Acts 10:2, I Thess.3:10,
I Tim. 5:5.
2. Personal prayer encourages the development of a relationship with the Lord. Saints like Enoch and Moses know the great blessings of such a relationship with God. Gen. 5:22, Exodus 25:22, Exodus 33:7-34, Exodus 34:29,35, Psalms 73:28, Matthew 6: 5-8, John1:3, Revelation 3:20.
3. Personal prayer makes public worship livelier by and is sure for and protection against depression. It assists in the process of sanctification and save us from doctrinal error.
