Lesson 51: We Need A Revival – Part 1

INTRODUCTION: what is a religious? Revival means a religious awakening, a rousing from spiritual slumber, a rekindling of a dying spiritual flame, a refilling of a dying spiritual lamp with Divine oil. We believe many, if not all, of us need a revival now.

1. Who needs a revival? When can I know that I need a revival? There are several danger signs along the pilgrims pathway that can warn him of the need for a revival. Some of them are:

a) When you pray less than before – I Thess 5:17, I Tim.2:8, James 5:13,16
b) When you do not study the Word as before – Jos. 1:8, Deut. 17:18-19, Ps. 1:1-2, I Chron. 22:12-13, Prov. 3:1-4.
c) When you sleep too much – Prov. 6:9-11, Prov. 20:13, Psalms 13:3-4
d) When you are depressed or sad – John 14:1, Ps. 30:5, Ps. 34:19, II Cor. 4:17
e) When little things begin to offend you – John 15:5, Jer.10:23, John3:17, II Cor. 3:5.
f) When your love for material wealth is overriding your longing for spiritual wealth, I John 2:15-17, Heb. 11:24-25, Gal. 6:14, II Tim.2:4.
g) When you overeat – Prov. 23:21, Phil.3:19, I Kings 12:19-20, I Tim. 5:6
h) When you easily become impatient – Eccl.7;8, Heb.10:36, James 1:4
i) When you begin to talk too much – James 1:26, Eccl. 3:7, Prov. 17:27
j) When you faith grows weak – Ps. 27:1, Isa. 43:2, Ps. 66:10-12
k) When you worry over little things – Matt. 6:25-34, Ps. 56:22, I Pet. 5:7
