Lesson 7: The end of the Ungodly
INTRODUCTION
In the last study we learnt that a sinner can be compared to the chaff, stubble, morning cloud, early dew, smoke and other worthless things, because their joys do not last, they are down before their time. This week, we shall learn more about the end of sinners. Before we start however, is there any difference between sinners and backsliders? Prov. 21:16.
1. Where is the last home of sinners? What is their fate for refusing Christ?
a) Matt. 13:41 –42 – Eternal Fire
b) Matt. 25:41 – Everlasting Fire
c) Mark 6:11 – Severe judgment
d) Matt. 7:23 – Christ Himself will disown them.
2. Can sinners accuse God of being too harsh in His judgment?
a) Proverbs 1;24-31
b) Isaiah 65:12
c) Hosea 9:17
d) Jeremiah 7:15-16
Sinners have no excuse against God.
3. But God is the Creator of all and He is the Almighty. Why doesn’t He use His power to prevent anyone from going to such dreadful place as eternal fire?

c) Isaiah 52:11
d) Ephesians 5:11, II Thessalonians 3:6. All these are some of the various warnings that God gave to all. Can you still blame God is some people insist on perishing?
4. There are many wicked things being done today by sinners e.g. armed robbery, even highly placed people. Why is God not doing something quickly about it?

Sinners are reserved unto judgment. Also God is waiting for them to repent. But the judgment is inevitable.
5. Will all sinners suffer exactly the same punishment? Is hell uniformly hot?

Punishment will vary according to the privileges available to each sinner.
6. Many sinners seem to be getting rich and powerful in the world today. What is God doing by allowing the wicked to prosper while some holy ones remain poor?

c) Psalms 73:11-19
d) Psalms 75:5
Don’t envy sinners even when they seem to prosper. Their end is terrible and they drink deep of the cup of the wrath of God.
7. Some people talk of purgatory where a sinner can suffer a little and then released. How true is that?

c) Proverbs 19:1
The destruction of sinners is total, never partial. And it is sudden too, not gradual. Total and sudden in the sense that “once is hell, for ever in hell”
8. Won’t God exempt Pastors? Prophets, etc, who serve is God and still sin?

b) Ezekiel 34:1-10
No exception at all.
CONCLUSION: Now that you know that any unrepentant sinner is doomed forever and that there is no purgatory and no exceptions at all. What do you think the future holds in store for you or that unrepentant member of your family? Pray about it now.
